Privacy
Compoundly is a calculator, not a service that holds your data. Everything runs in the browser tab in front of you.
What Compoundly does not do
- No account and no sign-in.
- No connection to a bank, a card issuer or a lender.
- No database, and no server-side storage of anything you type.
- No upload of financial history, statements or documents.
- No AI processing of your figures.
- No cloud calculation — every projection is computed on your device.
Where your numbers live
Balances, rates, contributions, repayments and targets exist only in the memory of your browser tab. Closing the tab discards them.
There is one exception, and it is opt-in. If you switch on Remember this calculation on this device, your inputs are written to this browser's local storage so they are still there when you come back. Local storage stays on the device: it is not transmitted, it is not readable by another site, and it is not visible to anyone operating Compoundly. The setting is off by default, and Forget calculation and Clear all local data remove it immediately.
Your currency and theme choice are stored separately from your figures, because they carry no financial information.
Exports
Copy Summary, CSV, JSON, PNG, the printable PDF report and .compoundly plan files are all generated in your browser and saved straight to your device. Nothing passes through a server on the way.
Analytics
If usage analytics are enabled on a deployment, they are limited to generic interaction events — which mode was opened, which tool was used, whether an export was clicked.
Values are never attached to an event. Specifically, no loan amount, debt balance, investment amount, interest rate, monthly payment, income figure, target or scenario is ever sent anywhere.
Not advice
Compoundly is an illustrative financial calculator. It is not investment advice, lending advice, credit advice, debt counselling or tax advice, and it does not guarantee investment returns or loan payoff amounts. Results are estimates based on the numbers you enter and may differ from your lender's or provider's own figures.
